Tynedale Community Hospice | About us

The idea of a community hospice was discussed in 1993 by a group of individuals, interested in developing a co-ordinated, community-based, hospice care service for patients with advanced disease and their carers, living in Tynedale.

Tynedale Community Hospice - Reception area

The Hospice has been up and running for many years and is a triumph of determination, fundraising and dedication of the community of Tynedale.

Tynedale Community Hospice provides a free nursing, domiciliary and home support service to patients and their families in the Tynedale, Scots Gap and Ponteland areas.  Our aim is to provide care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses who wish to remain at home for as long as possible.

Our service is equitable, flexible and responsive to both the needs of patients and their carers.  There is no charge for any care given by Tynedale Community Hospice.

If you need access to our help, there are a number of different ways: Contact your local GP, Macmillan Nurse, Community Nurse, Care Manager or just give the Hospice a ring and we will offer advice.
