Occasional Volunteer
If you don’t have the time to volunteer on a regular basis then how about becoming an occasional volunteer for us! We hold our own events as well as helping out people who are holding events for us. It’s a great way to get to meet new people and to feel part of the community as well as contributing to this great charity.

The Charity Shop
Situated at the top of Battle Hill, and a vital source of funds to the charity, our shop is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am until 4pm. We can offer you the choice of regular 3 hour shifts either in the morning or afternoon to suit you. Every day is different as we never know what we are going to get in next! You would be working in a team sorting the donated goods as well as pricing them and displaying them in the shop. A Moving and Handling session is provided as well as till training.

The Book Shop
The bookshop is situated above the charity shop and is accessed through the main shop. As with the charity shop regular 3 hour shifts are available throughout the week, Monday to Saturday. There are always plenty of books to sort, price and display as well as keeping the shelves stocked for our many loyal customers who continue to support our truly local charity.

Driver
Volunteer drivers are used by Tynedale Hospice at Home to take people for their various treatments and appointments at the hospitals in our area. Knowing that they have reliable transport gives patients peace of mind at what is often a difficult time. Drivers sometimes collect donations for the shop. Due to the nature of the volunteering, drivers need to have an enhanced CRB check. Anyone wishing to volunteer as a driver must own a 4 door car and hold up to date tax and insurance. All expenses are paid by Tynedale Hospice at Home.

Bereavement Support Volunteer
Tynedale Hospice at Home offers a Bereavement Support Service. People wishing to be put forward will initially be invited for an interview.   Training takes place periodically but you would be kept informed. An enhanced CRB check is required for volunteers wishing to work in this field. No previous experience is necessary as we have our own training programme. Contact us to see when our next course is running.

Office
Supporting the staff in the office is both fun and rewarding. With support from volunteers the office runs more efficiently and is more productive.

Due to the nature of the role we will need to carry out an enhanced CRB check. The ability to use a computer is NOT essential. Volunteering in the office is popular so please contact us to see if we have any vacancies.

Our Charity Shop is open from
